Once you've done that, accessing your encrypted folder(s) are no different than they'd be with IceDrive or pCloud Crypto – because in either case you need to input your encryption password to unlock the folder (just like you have to with IceDrive and pCloud Crypto). That said, I don't know why anyone would pay pCloud for it when it is insanely easy, and 100% Free, to just use Cryptomator with any cloud account (you literally just tell it whatever folders you want to have zero-knowledge encryption and bam: done). They both offer encryption, but IceDrive has an edge in terms of zero-knowledge encryption because it offers it for Free, whereas pCloud charges for it for some reason (what it calls "Crypto"). PCloud's cost per TB (normal annual price, non-promo): - 500 GB Plan: $95.76 per TB - annual cost: $47.88 / year - 2 TB Plan: $47.94 per TB - annual cost: $95.88 / year To get 2 TB on IceDrive you'd need two separate 1 TB plans. PCloud's options are 500 GB and 2 TB (2,000 GB), though if you've already purchased the 2 TB plan you technically get the offer to purchase even more (a 4 TB plan) if you eventually find you need it. IceDrive has been making a push as of late, but pCloud just seems more ready (not a surprise given they've been around ~4x longer than IceDrive, in-turn having more development time put in).Īs far as pricing, they're basically the same, but IceDrive has more options than pCloud on sizes (150 GB, 1 TB, and 5 TB – kind of an odd gap but they must have noticed people that needed > 1 TB were just big users anyway so 5 TB was their next idea?) and so eventually their biggest plan ends up being less, but you'll need to shell out $180 / year to get that rate (before that, pCloud's pricing is cheaper per GB & TB). PCloud wins on features and has also been around much longer (IceDrive just officially started in January 2019).
